While the first has relied on Florian Silbereisen for years, ZDF has relied on Giovanni Zarrella for hit shows since 2021.
Do the two moderators therefore see each other as competitors?
Cologne - Things have been going great for the hit shows on Saturday evenings for years: prominent guests like Roland Kaiser (71) and Beatrice Egli (35) are now not only attracting guests to Florian Silbereisen's (42) “Die Feste” shows (Das Erste), but also in the “Giovanni Zarrella Show” (ZDF) since 2021.
Some people therefore suspect that this indirect showdown fuels a possible competition between the two.

There are enough reasons for this: The show concept as well as the guests appearing and the good broadcast time are strikingly similar for Florian Silbereisen and Giovanni Zarrella (45).
Accordingly, the ARD and ZDF broadcasts can also be compared excellently with each other - for example in terms of audience ratings.
Recently, both hit shows even had the same motto.

However, there is no bad blood between the two moderators, as Giovanni Zarrella recently revealed on
t-online.de
: “We have no problem with each other at all.
I used to be a guest on his shows too.
“So if he invited me to his show again, I’d go too,” says the 45-year-old.
When is the next “Giovanni Zarrella Show”?
After Giovanni Zarrella's ZDF broadcast was last used for the big Roland Kaiser anniversary, a regular edition of the hit show is scheduled for the first half of the year.
This is scheduled for May 4, 2024.
Guests are not yet known, nor is the recording location.
Florian Silbereisen has never had to compete against “Giovanni Zarrella Show”.
In fact, Giovanni Zarrella has appeared several times in Florian Silbereisen's big Saturday evening shows in the past - but a return visit from the "Das Traumschiff" star is still pending.
After all, their two hit shows never had to compete directly with each other.
In December 2023, both stars were seen on TV at the same time, but Zarrella was not on ZDF, but on RTL's “Disney100” anniversary.
