The people of Gaißach would like to have a large event hall again.
In any case, there was a huge rush when the idea of the “reserve host” was presented.
Gaißach – Weddings, carnival celebrations, large family and club celebrations: Since the “Jägerwirt” was closed in 2017, Gaißach has been missing a large event hall.
That should change now – if everyone helps together in the form of a cooperative.
In any case, the interest in the idea is enormous.
This was evident on Friday evening at the information event on the “Reservewirt”.

The crowd is so big that we have to move to the gym
First we had to move from the elementary school auditorium to the gymnasium so that everyone in the audience could find a place.
But then the six initiators started with their statements.
The information was extensive and well prepared; there were only a few requests, questions and requests for the last item on the agenda.
Comrades should support the project
First was Franz Rest Sr., who looked back at how things used to be and also explained the name “Reservewirt”.
The planned building is to be built where there were once two water reserves.
In addition, as many comrades as possible are needed to dip into their “reserves” to support the project.
And finally, the future host should always have enough liquid reserves in the refrigerator.
The community would contribute 750,000 euros
Next came praise for the community, which had already signaled that it would contribute 750,000 euros to the project, which is estimated to cost a total of 1.5 million euros.
The municipality will also provide 1,500 square meters of building land and build a parking space.
Hans Krinner presented the figures, who also explained that the municipality was legally not allowed to act as the developer because this would represent a competing company.
Krinner: “In addition, there is more passion when we get involved ourselves.
That increases the value.”
Event hall for up to 500 visitors
Thomas Gaisreiter discussed construction costs and the design of the building, which was planned to have the character of an alpine hut and measured 38 by 30 meters.
Carnival balls with up to 500 visitors or wedding celebrations for around 200 guests should be able to take place there.
Gaisreiter: “The proximity to residential development makes the matter problematic, but according to information from a noise insulation expert, it is possible.” Franz Krinner Jr.
spoke of “lived customs” and “celebrations where we come from.”

A share in the business costs 250 euros
A sense of togetherness and community are top priorities for the planned cooperative.
It should include a three-member board of directors, a supervisory board consisting of six members and the general meeting.
A share in the business costs 250 euros.
First, however, it is important to clarify how willing the population, companies and clubs are to take part through membership applications, which must be submitted to the community or one of the initiators by March 17th.
Balthasar Bauer presented examples of the costs and income the “Reservewirt” uses to calculate each year.
“It would be desirable to have a permanent innkeeper as the operator, but catering is also conceivable,” Bauer looked ahead.
“A village becomes a host”: Altenau as a role model
Robert Sokop came from the community of Altenau in Ammertal and talked about a similar situation in his hometown.
“A village becomes a host” saved the village culture there.
Sokop: “From what I’ve heard so far, you’re on a very good path.
All respect to the initiators and the exemplary efforts of the community.” Franz Bauer said in his closing words: “This may be the last chance to save something.
Now it's all our turn.
We need the population.
Look under your pillows, every reserve is needed for the reserve host.”
Mayor Stefan Fadinger called for membership applications to join the cooperative to be submitted by March 17th.
By the way, not only Gaißachers can join, everyone can become a member.
