Tesla's treatment of a small bakery recently caused outrage around the world.
Now even company boss Elon Musk is getting involved.
San Jose – It won't be quiet around the car manufacturer Tesla.
Not only are residents of the Brandenburg Tesla plant reacting with rejection to expansion plans for the site, but now the company has also come under fire for a cake bill.
Specifically, this concerns an order for 4,000 cakes for Valentine's Day at the car manufacturer's headquarters in California that was canceled at short notice.
Order canceled at short notice: Tesla founder intervenes after cake scandal
CEO and billionaire Elon Musk only claims to have heard about this later.
He later wrote on his platform X (formerly Twitter) that he had “just heard about it” and wanted to “make things right with the bakery.”
People should be able to trust that Tesla is always trying its best, Musk continued.
But he probably couldn't help a woman who tried to fill up her Tesla with gasoline.

According to local television station ABC7 News,
a Tesla representative
ordered the 4,000 cakes from the small bakery “The Giving Pies”.
There, others were put aside for this order and enormous quantities of ingredients were procured for the order, which was large in relation to the business.
On the agreed pickup day, the order was canceled with a curt text message.
Bakery owner Voahangy Rasetarinera apparently didn't want to put up with that and went to the press.
Her story caused international outrage.
But customers are also sometimes very disappointed when it comes to Tesla cars, as one case shows.
Apparently a new order from Tesla from a small bakery after the cake scandal
How exactly Musk wants to “make things right” is unclear.
Rasetarinera told
NBC Bay Area that she hasn't heard from the billionaire since the online post.
According to a report from
KTVU
, Tesla has now placed an order for 3,200 cakes for two events next month.

And from a purely PR perspective, the situation was apparently worth it for the bakery.
The report continues that there is now a 36-hour wait for cakes at the small shop.
And the financial loss has now been compensated for.
