In the new “Polizeiruf 110” episode, protagonist Katrin König was surprised by her father.
The role was played by an actor who has already appeared in numerous other productions.
Rostock – “Diebe” is the name of the latest “Polizeiruf 110” edition, which was broadcast on Sunday evening (February 25th) on Erste.
In the darkly staged episode, detectives Katrin König (played by Anneke Kim Sarnau, 52) and Melly Böwe (played by Lina Beckmann, 42) go into Rostock's drug scene to solve the case of an addicted mother.
However, Police Officer König's work becomes much more difficult when her father Günther Wernicke suddenly appears in front of her.
The two had no contact for forty years, which is why the reunion understandably initially causes great confusion for König.

To ensure that the father-daughter story also creates excitement for the television audience, the role of Günther Wernicke was cast with a particularly experienced actor who many viewers will already know from other productions.
The dramatic family story surrounding Inspector Katrin König was credibly staged by Anneke Kim Sarnau and Wolfgang Michael (68) in the new “Polizeiruf”.
The actor, who was born in North Rhine-Westphalia, initially began his career in the theater and appeared on stage at the Berlin Schaubühne and the renowned Vienna Burgtheater, among others.
In the mid-nineties, Michael appeared in a few film productions for the first time, before becoming a sought-after actor for numerous different TV series after the turn of the millennium.
Many television fans may know him primarily for his role as caretaker Wilhelm in the Prime Video format “The Discounters”.
Michael has been in front of the camera for the mockumentary series about a Hamburg supermarket since 2021 and is considered the secret star of the show with his running gags.

Incidentally, his role in “Diebe” was not Wolfgang Michael’s first appearance in a Rostock “Polizeiruf”, as he already took on a part in the episode “Only Ghosts” last year.
Michael was first seen in “Polizeiruf 110” in 2008, when he was in front of the camera for the Bavarian production “How is the world so quiet?”

As a recognizable character actor, the TV star seems to be particularly popular in the crime genre.
In addition to three appearances in “Tatort” episodes, Wolfgang Michael was also seen in episodes of “SOKO Potsdam” and “SOKO Cologne”, among others.
After all, he probably showed himself to a large audience again in “Diebe”.
When it comes to ratings, “Polizeiruf 110” has recently had some success.
