Failed overtaking attempt: Carriage with a crew of five drove across the oncoming lane into an adjacent field.
Fortunately, neither people nor animals were seriously injured.
Peißenberg - Last Sunday afternoon, a carriage pulled by two horses was involved in a traffic accident, according to a report from the Weilheim police.
The five-person crew of the carriage, a Peißenberg family, was traveling on the B472 from Peißenberg towards Roßlaich Bridge around 2:45 p.m. when a car driven behind by a Peißenberg man (30) started to overtake.
During the process, however, the driver noticed that there was oncoming traffic and therefore pulled back into his lane.
Despite braking hard, he could no longer avoid hitting the rear of the carriage.
The carriage then drove across the oncoming lane into the adjacent field and came to a stop there after almost 100 meters.
Three of the occupants suffered minor injuries and were treated in hospital.
The two horses also suffered minor injuries.
The total property damage was estimated at around 7,000 euros.
