During the debate on the
Omnibus Law
last January, the disagreements between the different positions were not limited solely to the interior of Congress, but went beyond its doors and ended up manifesting
in the streets, with violence
.
While inside the premises the legislators discussed the text of the norm, outside different social organizations demonstrated against it and there were several tense situations in which the police ended up intervening.
In the midst of this chaos, some
libertarian militants
who had gone to witness the session left Congress and were
attacked by a group of protesters
.
One of the young people, the libertarian influencer
Patricio Chazarreta
, received
a fist blow that was recorded by the
TV cameras and whose author was quickly identified by Internet users: it was Gastón Garriga, who on his networks presented himself as a columnist for media such as Página /12 and the Madres de Plaza de Mayo radio station, of which he also proclaimed himself as commercial director.

"We were with a group of friends and protesters came up to reproach us. I never thought I was bothering them, and since I saw that there were police and people from Congress, I didn't imagine that anything was going to happen. We didn't want to provoke, they attacked us when we were leaving.
The guy who hit me already had a history of attacking others for their political position
," the attacked influencer said at the time.
The lawyers of the attacked young man are the Buenos Aires legislator Yamil Santoro, Juan Fazio and José Magioncalda, all belonging to the Apolo Foundation.
