The Farnesina collection is enriched by the 1:100 scale model of the Italian Pavilion, presented today to the Vice President of the Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani.

During the meeting, the model of the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka was positioned in front of the Grand Staircase, enriching the already precious collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The scale model is a faithful reproduction of the project of the architect Mario Cucinella, who was inspired by the Ideal City of the Renaissance with a theatre, a real building within a building, which will host cultural events.

The square and the garden will also be distinctive elements of creativity, urban planning and Italian identity.

Italy presents itself at the next Universal Exhibition which will be held in Osaka from 13 April to 13 October 2025 with the theme 'Art regenerates life', an interpretation of the general theme 'Designing the future society for our lives'.

"The Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka will be an extraordinary instrument of growth diplomacy. We will team up to enhance our excellence" declared Minister Tajani. "The project of the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka designed by the architect Mario Cucinella is characterized with a strong stylistic and structural identity.

The Italian System presents itself at Expo 2025 Osaka in this extraordinary setting: the Italian Pavilion will be the first business card for Italian companies presenting themselves in Japan" commented General Commissioner Vattani at the end of the meeting. According to a study by the Polytechnic of Milan commissioned by the General Commissariat, Italy's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka can bring a +20% on the current volume of exports, for a value of well over 600 million euros per year. The trade between Italy and Japan today is worth approximately 13 billion Euros Over 30% of Italian exports to Japan are driven by the main Made in Italy items: agri-food, fashion, design, followed by technical-scientific sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automotive and mechanics.
