Deciphering a murder in Baka Algrabia: YLP Commander Menashe, Corporal David Geula/police spokesmen
Last month, the Shin Bet and the police advised the Ministry of the Interior to postpone the elections for local authorities that will be held tomorrow in 8 Arab municipalities, this for fear of the intervention of criminal elements who will succeed in planting candidates on their behalf and thus take over the authority or due to threats to harm the candidates running for the presidency. Despite this, the Ministry of the Interior postponed the recommendation and decided to hold the elections in those authorities as planned. The details are revealed for the first time in Vala.

Some of those present at the hearing then supported the recommendation of the Shin Bet and the police to postpone the elections to another date, but the proposal provoked legal opposition and it was agreed that the security bodies would hold discussions together in which they would formulate the list of local authorities where the elections should be postponed for fear of interference by criminal elements.
About a month ago, they recommended The Shin Bet and the police definitively postpone the elections in 8 Arab municipalities, including Kfar Qasim, Rama, Ebalin, Nazareth and more.
7 other Arab authorities warned against a high fear of violent incidents or damage to the purity of the elections.
Despite the recommendation, Interior Minister Moshe Arbel of Shas, together with the professional officials in his office, rejected the recommendation and decided to hold the elections on their scheduled date. It is not clear what they based their decision on.
