It's not just the “typical” pets like dogs, cats or rabbits that come to the animal shelter: a pair of ducks from the Munich animal shelter are looking for a new home.

Munich - They were simply abandoned, now they are looking for a place to be happy: the ducks Alice and Olaf.

Dear people found them, put them in a box and gave them to the animal shelter in Munich, the animal shelter reports.

That was last October, when they were still very little chicks - they have now grown up and are still looking for a home.

The two ducks Alice and Olaf are hybrids from different breeds of domestic ducks

The two are so-called “mulard ducks”, which is the name given to hybrids of different breeds of domestic ducks.

For Alice and Olaf, the animal shelter suspects a mix of Peking duck and warty duck in their ancestry.

Olaf is the all-white drake and Alice is the duck with the heart spot on his head.

Domestic ducks are not wild animals - so Alice and Olaf need human care in order to survive.

The animal shelter is therefore looking for a nice place for the two where they can be lovingly cared for until the end of their natural lives and simply be happy.

The pair of ducks definitely want to stay together and are looking for a home together

They definitely want to stay together, but can easily be integrated into existing duck groups.

What is important is plenty of space for grazing, a pond for swimming and a shelter for sleeping or a fox- and marten-proof enclosure for the night.
