Verdi wants to paralyze public transport in parts of Baden-Württemberg again.

The union has called for warning strikes on Thursday and Friday.

Seven cities are affected again.

Stuttgart - Local public transport passengers will have to prepare for significant restrictions in several cities in Baden-Württemberg on Thursday and Friday.

The Verdi union has called for all-day warning strikes at seven local public transport companies.

Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Heilbronn, Freiburg, Baden-Baden, Esslingen and Konstanz are affected, as the union announced on Monday in Stuttgart.

The union is currently negotiating new collective agreements for local public transport companies in all federal states except Bavaria.

At the beginning of February, Verdi called on the employees of all these companies to go on a day-long strike.

Bus and train traffic was largely brought to a standstill at that time.

In the past few days there have also been strikes in individual cities, including Stuttgart and Karlsruhe.

Verdi has announced industrial action in all federal states except Bavaria from Monday to Saturday - on different days regionally.

The main strike day is Friday.

Parallel to the warning strikes, Fridays For Future is organizing numerous climate demonstrations on March 1st.

Negotiations are taking place in all federal states at the same time, but the demands differ: In Baden-Württemberg, Verdi wants, among other things, for working hours to be gradually reduced and for employees to be able to have their working hours fully credited in the event of delays.

The union also wants to enforce a shift allowance.

The Baden-Württemberg Municipal Employers' Association (KAV) sits at the negotiating table for local transport companies.

Managing Director Sylvana Donath recently criticized the demands as, among other things, excessive and unfinanceable.

According to the union, the third round of negotiations in the southwest has been agreed for March 5th and 6th.
