The idea had not been discussed publicly.

Only when there was a formal application was the planned alpine village in Arzbach discussed publicly.

Mayor Göhzold explains why that was the case.

Arzbach - The plans of the landowner of the campsite in Arzbach to convert the area into an alpine village resort attracted widespread public attention, as reported.

The project was first published in the announcement of the local council meeting a few days ago.

Some residents were surprised by the extensive construction idea.

The local councils, on the other hand, have been inaugurated since autumn 2022 - and have already discussed the plans twice behind closed doors.

Two councilors were displeased by the fact that the plan was even discussed openly at the meeting on Tuesday.

Mayor Jan Göhzold speaks in an interview about his reasons for the approach.

Mr. Göhzold, why was the topic of Almdorf not discussed publicly by the local council until the Tuesday meeting?

Göhzold: The topic was first addressed in autumn 2022 as a purely preliminary inquiry.

At that time, the decision was made that they were fundamentally open to the request - like any other citizen's request - but that before an actual decision was made, they wanted to first examine how the project would affect the directly adjacent "Arzbacher Hof".

After the requested documents were submitted without comment in November 2023, the matter continued to be treated as an “inquiry” and not as an “official application” and was discussed at the non-public meeting.

What happened between the two meetings in 2022 and 2023, in which the topic was not discussed publicly?

The applicants had the aforementioned acoustic analysis carried out.

What was the description of the agenda item in the closed meeting?

Since no application or anything similar was submitted in November 2023, the agenda item was soberly called “Camping-Almdorf Arzbach – results of the acoustic investigation”.

Was this a preliminary inquiry or an application for a development plan?

Since this acoustic investigation was a prerequisite for further, more in-depth treatment and coordination in the local council, this was complied with without being asked.

After a detailed discussion of the pros and cons of the planned facility, the local council came to the decision that a camping and alpine village could not be imagined at the planned location.

Why was it decided to discuss the application publicly at the February meeting?

Following the meeting in November 2023, the result was communicated to the applicants.

Since they wanted to know more about the local council's justification for their negative attitude towards the project, they submitted the official application for the issuance of a development plan for the first time in February of this year.

Why is the resolution from the non-public November meeting no longer valid?

Since a decision to draw up a development plan must always be made publicly, a corresponding application must also be treated publicly.

The existing local council resolution was still valid until it was reconsidered.

This was virtually replaced by the same resolution at the public meeting.
