Fredi Malinowski and Martin Hein are successful throughout Germany as the hit duo “Fantasy” - but life in the music business is not always as easy as it seems at first glance.
The German-speaking band “Fantasy” has been successful in business for over 25 years.
But what is life actually like behind the scenes?
At first glance, the hit industry seems like a perfect, lovely world - but that's not always the case, says Fredi Malinowski (52), a member of the "Fantasy" duo, candidly in an interview.

With their new album “Phönix aus der Asche”, the hit duo “Fantasy” climbed straight to number one in the German album charts, even leaving the successful US rock band “Green Day” behind.
The album has a special meaning for the band - the song of the same name is about love, but the title has an even deeper meaning for the music duo.

“Not all of our colleagues are well disposed towards us.
Many of them had declared us dead during the Corona period.
At that time we had just changed management and record company.
They believed that was wrong, so fantasy was over now.

Most recently, “Fantasy” singer Fredi Malinowski had to cancel his appearance on “Schlager des Monat” due to illness.
However, that doesn't seem to have affected the band's success.
Perhaps “Fantasy” will be shown in Florian Silbereisen’s (42) “Schlagerjubilee” on March 16, 2024 – the guest list is not yet known.
