“Twice as many as in 2019”, in Oise, victims of domestic violence are no longer afraid to speak

They are no longer afraid to denounce their husband, their boyfriend or the father of their children for what they did to them.

Previously most often passed over in silence, cases of domestic violence increasingly find themselves before the courts where they take the name of intra-family violence (IVF).

Last year, the Oise courts never investigated so many acts of violence within the same household.

“One case at each immediate appearance hearing, twice a week,” mentions Guillaume Dupont, public prosecutor of Compiègne.

In 2023, in the gendarmerie zone, within our jurisdiction, 563 people in custody out of 947 were perpetrators of domestic violence (FIV).

We are close to 60%.
