This Wednesday and Thursday the airport will be transformed into a haven for young research minds.

Then Moos Airport will be partner and host of the regional competition “Youth Research – Students Experiment” for the 21st time.

Airport - Over 90 young scientists are presenting their work and research results this week in the multi-purpose hall of Flughafen München GmbH - from floating particles to gliders.

The FMG reports that 54 projects will have a stage at the airport.

According to its own statements, it has been specifically supporting young inventiveness in the fields of work, biology, chemistry, mathematics/computer science, earth and spatial sciences, physics and technology for two decades now.

“The airport company is also committed to attracting potential young talent to the airport,” explains a spokesman.

At the end, the innovative projects are assessed and awarded by 24 jurors.

The motto of this year's young talent competition is “Make a head of it”.

One of those who have thought about it is Felix Pätzold, who is just ten years old, from the Korbinian-Aigner-Gymnasium in Erding.

He developed a model airplane capable of flying long distances.

He experimented with the wingspan, weights and their distribution as well as attaching a tail unit.

And Vincent Engelbrecht from the Katharinen-Gymnasium in Ingolstadt devoted himself to physics.

He wanted to investigate acoustic levitation.

That is, using sound waves to levitate objects in the air by overcoming gravity.

The problem: the corresponding devices are expensive.

That's why Vincent designed and built his own device, which he will present at the airport at “Youth Research - Students Experiment”.

The public can also get an idea of the young talents: All of the ambitious students' works will be on display on Wednesday, February 28th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday, February 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the multi-purpose hall Munich Airport GmbH is shown at Nordallee 23.

The multi-purpose hall can be reached via S-Bahn in just a few minutes on foot via the visitor park stop.

The awards ceremony will take place on February 29th from 2:30 p.m.

Airport boss Jost Lammers is also expected to attend.
