A boulder crashes onto a bus in Austria.
The road is completely closed.
It is still unclear whether there is further danger.
Pfunds – Rock falls are not uncommon in Austria.
Just recently, a ten-ton rock crashed into a moving car in Salzburger Land.
In the state of Tyrol, too, a rock fall occurred in the municipality of Pfunds on Monday afternoon (February 26th).
Boulders thunder against a bus in Tyrol
A stone about 20 to 30 centimeters large crashed into a bus on Reschenstrasse (B180).
The local police announced this in a statement.
The rock narrowly missed the windshield and fell over it onto the edge of the roof of the bus.

The roof was slightly dented and the windshield was damaged, it said.
Although there were passengers on the bus, no one was injured.
Nevertheless, the B180 between the Kajetansbrücke and Nauders had to be closed to all traffic for safety reasons.
A diversion has been set up.
Trucks, buses and vehicles with trailers in particular have to avoid the area as they are not allowed to take the detour via Martinsbrucker Straße.
Rock fall in Tyrol: Geologist checks whether there is any further danger
“The stone could not be found and probably fell further down the valley over the steep terrain after hitting the bus,” said the police.
The situation will only be assessed by a geologist on Tuesday morning (February 27th) as it was too dark for an assessment on Monday, according to a statement from the state of Tyrol.
It is currently unclear whether there is any further danger from falling boulders.
Only when the authorities give the all-clear can traffic flow again.
It is not uncommon for rock falls to occur in the region.
It was only in 2021 that a rock fell from the slope on the same route between the Kajetans Bridge and Nauders.
At that time, however, it was significantly larger at 15 cubic meters.
In contrast, a huge rockslide occurred at the Birnhorn near Zell am See at the beginning of February.
