The Dutch young singer Emma Kok suffers from a chronic illness.

Nevertheless, the teenager wants to go on tour soon.

Kerkrade – With her song “Voilà”, newcomer Emma Kok (15) caused great enthusiasm on the “Helene Fischer Show” in December 2023.

After her performance, in which she performed her hit in a duet with Fischer (39), the young Dutchwoman was rewarded with a standing ovation from the audience.

Still relatively new to show business here, Kok is anything but an unknown face in her home country.

At the age of twelve she won the Dutch edition of “The Voice Kids” and just two years later she would emerge as winner again in the TV show “Ministars”.

In addition to her many successes, Emma Kok has had to cope with just as many low blows in her young life.

Nevertheless, the passionate singer is optimistic about the future.

Emma Kok can only take off her stomach pump for two hours a day.

The rest of the time, the talented soprano is artificially fed with liquid baby food because Kok has suffered from stomach paralysis since birth, which makes it impossible for her to eat independently.

“I struggle with it every day,” she tells RTL about her illness.

“Some people think you can maybe get used to it and I have a bit of that too.

But how are you supposed to get used to something like that?

That’s not possible.” The teenager has to have her pump replaced three to four times a year.

The suffering will probably accompany her for the rest of her life.

However, Emma Kok doesn't want to let the illness destroy her dreams.

That's why the 15-year-old is going on an extensive world tour with André Rieu (74) and his Johann Strauss Orchestra from February 22nd.

The star violinist brought the young talent onto the stage in autumn 2023.

The video recording of the joint performance in Maastricht was later viewed by millions of people online.

In the coming months, Emma Kok and André Rieu will be on stage in the USA and Canada, among other places.

A total of more than 90 concerts are planned.

Emma is certain that she will cope with the performances without any problems.

Because as she revealed in an interview with RTL, the music gives her the strength she needs: “When I'm on stage, I can let go.

I put all the pent up emotions into the song.

When I sing, I am free.” Another young star also dreams of big things, but recently suffered a setback: This is what Marie Reim (23) feels after her ESC defeat.
