The driver of a scooter died in an accident on Boulevard André-Citroën. He did not survive the collision with a vehicle which hit him.


Another tragic scooter accident this Monday evening, shortly before 7 p.m.

In Aulnay-sous-Bois, boulevard André-Citroën, a man died while riding his machine.

He was hit by a Renault Clio.

Arriving quickly on site, the police could only note that he was in cardio-respiratory arrest.

The death was pronounced shortly before midnight.

According to the explanations given by the driver of the vehicle, he “hit him from behind”, indicates a police source.

Following the collision, the motorist performed cardiac massage, without success.

Alcohol and drug testing was negative.

The driver was taken into custody, but severely shocked, he was transported to the Jean-Verdier hospital in Bondy, under police escort.

The local police station was contacted.

According to a study by the APHP (Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris), scooter accidents more than doubled between 2019 and 2022. These are the conclusions of the study carried out by the anesthesia-resuscitation services making up the group of Traubase research, Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital, Sorbonne University and Inserm.

They looked at the seriousness of injuries following road accidents with motorized personal transport devices (EDPM), in particular scooters (but also electric mono-wheels, self-balancing scooters, etc.).

EDPM drivers presented severe trauma in 45.5% of cases compared to 39.7% for motorcycle drivers and 47.3% for cyclists.
