In Ansbach, two men roll a woman's corpse in a carpet.
A neighbor calls the police - but when they find the two men, they hear a strange explanation.
Ansbach – A truly strange scene took place in Ansbach in the morning hours of Monday, February 26th.
As the police report, a resident of an apartment building observed an unusual situation shortly after 11 a.m.: two men were apparently carrying a body rolled in a carpet down the stairs.
The woman immediately alerted the police.
Body in the carpet is deceased mother
When officers arrived, they found two men aged 56 and 50.
They told the police that the elderly man's mother had died of natural causes the day before.
Since there was no other means of transport available, the two decided to roll the 82-year-old woman's body in a carpet.
The body, according to the men, should be picked up by an out-of-town funeral home.

Possible violations of burial law
As the police report, the statement was confirmed by a death certificate and an inquiry to the registry office.
Nevertheless, the two men now have to face legal consequences: investigations have been initiated against them for possible violations of burial law.
“We now have to check whether this is allowed or not,” said a police spokesman on Tuesday.
“It's not an everyday occurrence for us that a corpse is carried around in the carpet.” The dead woman was ultimately picked up from the apartment building in a hearse.
