Romina Camejo will be prohibited from using the cell phone, communicating with witnesses in the case, among other measures. The hearing to charge Camejo for the homicide was this afternoon in Maldonado.

Justice ordered a series of measures limiting the freedom of Romina Camejo, 26, who shot and killed her ex-partner, the businessman and owner of La Maison, Gonzalo Aguiar, according to the Uruguayan newspaper El

Observador

.

The prosecutor in the case Sebastián Robles requested – and the judge accepted – that the woman establish an address, that she be prohibited from leaving Montevideo, that she not be able to use her cell phone and that her passport be retained.

She, too, will not be able to communicate with witnesses in the case and the borders will also be closed to her.

All are for 150 days.

According to the prosecutor's argument at the hearing, the measures requested were to "ensure" the investigation and because "necessary proceedings" are pending to determine what the events were.

Aguiar, who was being investigated by the Economic Crimes Prosecutor's Office for fraud and money laundering, was 46 years old and was shot to death several times early Monday morning in a house in Punta del Este.

In that place were Camejo, his six-month-old daughter (who he had had with the businessman) and another person.

As Camejo's lawyer, Camilo Silvera, had told

, Aguiar had arrived "totally scared" to the house where the woman was and had previously threatened her by telephone with "cutting her into little pieces."

This according to the story that the woman gave to her legal representative, who in search of her presented the case as self-defense.

Camejo also alleged in her story that the businessman – from whom she had been separated for months – was "violent" and that "he was always armed", so she felt "fear" when she saw him arrive.

News in development.
