According to initial information, one person has died in an emergency at a hotel on the island of Usedom.
An increased concentration of carbon monoxide was found on site, said a spokesman for the Vorpommern-Greifswald district on Tuesday.
Accordingly, there are also injuries.
A person is being transferred to a hospital in Berlin.
Several fire departments and rescue workers are on site.
Heringsdorf - The radio station Ostseewelle first reported.
According to a district spokesman, a smoke detector went off in the hotel on Heringsdorfer Kulmstrasse on Tuesday morning.
The building was evacuated.
In total, more than 50 people were staying in the hotel.
The operation was still ongoing late on Tuesday afternoon.
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas that, in higher concentrations, acts as a strong respiratory poison.
According to Ostseewelle, a defective line could play a role.
