After the citizens' initiative was rejected at the meeting on February 22nd, the citizens' initiative responded immediately
Markt Schwaben - Just one day later a message was written.
In it, its chairman Michael Kümpfbeck refers to the valid local council resolution of January 18th, “in which the committee has already spoken out against the location of a refugee accommodation at Ziegelstadel and has commissioned the search for alternative locations.” Furthermore, Kümpfbeck demands “that this resolution, as which was made clear again at the most recent meeting, will be implemented stringently.
We are counting on the market town councils and the mayor to live up to their democratic mandate.”
But that's not enough.
The initiative is not giving up and is planning the next steps at the same time.
They want to first have the admissibility of the citizens' petition checked by a judge through an expedited procedure at the administrative court and even sue against the decision.
Kümpfbeck said: “We will exhaust all the options available to us to continue to do justice to the strong mandate of almost 2,000 signatures.”
