Protests against hatred and incitement are taking place across Germany.
This is also being considered in Geretsried - but more active: a bicycle demo is taking place on Friday evening.
Geretsried/Wolfratshausen – They are an inter-communal project, the regular protests against right-wing extremism and hatred.
After a group of, according to the police, 350 people demonstrated with candles and lamps in the old town of Wolfratshausen on Friday a week ago, another protest will take place in Geretsried next Friday, March 1st.
As the organizers explain in a press release, it is a moving demonstration train: “Cycling for Diversity” is the name of the event, which starts at 5 p.m.
Demo in Geretsried: Protest against right-wing extremism on bicycles
An active form of protest is planned: the demonstrators will meet with bicycles at Neuer Platz in Geretsried.
Then they cycle together to the “Ein-Stein” youth center on Steiner Ring.
There Werner Sebb talks about the historical background of the district.
Sebb is a founding member of the Historical Geretsried working group.
“We want to show that our democracy needs more drive again – and we want to be that drive,” writes Martin Lorenz in a press release for the “We Together for Democracy” initiative.
Lorenz led the Wolfratshausen demo.

“Since the secret plan research by the Correctiv network, hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets every week who have recognized the inhumane machinations of right-wing extremists and no longer want to accept anything as a given,” says the organizers’ announcement.
In the northern district, the group wants to create a “more permanent structure”.
There should be “smaller, more varied, informative and sometimes sporty demonstrations” against right-wing extremism at least every two weeks.

“This is the only way we can maintain the pressure that society is putting on right-wing extremists and the government,” says the group.
The demo is scheduled to end at Neuer Platz around 6 p.m. - the group will cycle back there after the short speech.
