Now the federal police arrested the woman at Frankfurt Airport.

Frankfurt – Federal police officers have arrested a woman wanted in Spain at Frankfurt Airport on suspicion of economic crime.

The Spanish judiciary was looking for the 39-year-old "because she was a front woman for two shell companies in Spain and transferred funds of illegal origin amounting to around 5.2 million euros to China," the police said on Tuesday (February 27).

Federal police arrest 39-year-old at Frankfurt Airport

Due to a wanted tip, the federal police stopped the woman coming from Shanghai from continuing her journey on Sunday (February 25).

In Spain she now has to serve a prison sentence totaling six years and six months.

She will remain in the presence cells of the Frankfurt District Court until her extradition.
