The elections for the local authorities in the IDF continued throughout the last week and will reach their peak today (Tuesday) on the main election day. During the day, approximately 570 polling stations will be opened in the IDF in several locations, including in the combat zones, with the southernmost polling station being placed at the Taba outpost in Eilat and the northernmost in Har Dov.

All soldiers will be able to vote on election day from 08:00 in the morning until the evening no later than 21:00, according to operational needs.

At the same time, the prison service also completed its preparations for the elections to the local authorities.

The potential of voters is about 10,100 prisoners and about 2,000 Israeli military personnel, and 61 polling stations were distributed to prisons throughout the country, some stationary and some mobile.



By law, every Israeli citizen who has reached the age of 17 is registered in the voter's register, and is under custody Shavas, on election day, is entitled to exercise his right to choose his place of incarceration.

The prisoners will leave the wings according to wing order and will receive a means of identification from the wing managers, after which they will arrive accompanied by guards to the polling stations located in coordination with the representatives of the polling committee, inside the prison area in a place that guarantees the secrecy of the election.



The members of the polling committees, with the exception of the secretaries, are citizens and members of factions.

The polling stations will be open between 08:00 and 20:00 and then they will be collected from the prisons by the election committee.
