“France remains more than ever mobilized to come to the aid of the Gazan population, in a humanitarian emergency situation which is worsening day by day,” indicates the Quai d'Orsay, adding that France “continues to demand of Israel the immediate opening of all crossing points into Gaza and the massive entry of humanitarian aid.”

This Monday, the French armed forces, in partnership with the Jordanian army, had already carried out four air drops.

“Four C-130 planes, including one belonging to the French armed forces,” made the deliveries, the Jordanian army communicated at the time.

Parcels dropped at sea on Monday

On several videos shared on social networks, we note that some of the packages parachuted on Monday ended up in the sea, forcing Palestinian civilians to organize themselves to collect the pallets.

A source within the Air and Space Force informed RFI that “the guidance took place by gravity, without a GPS guidance system, and that it was carried out above the sea to prevent a pallet from injuring someone on the ground, in the event of a parachute malfunction.”

France and Jordan had already carried out an operation of this type together at the beginning of the year, dropping seven tonnes of humanitarian aid intended for the Jordanian field hospital set up in Gaza.

Jordan has carried out sixteen operations to drop humanitarian and medical aid since the start of the war on October 7 between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, intended in particular for a Jordanian field hospital in the north of the Palestinian territory.

Human rights NGOs Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch on Monday accused Israel of continuing to limit humanitarian aid despite demands from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to do everything to prevent genocide in the Strip. from Gaza.

In November, Israel said it had coordinated an airdrop of humanitarian aid with Jordan.
