"What is the inclusion of environmental protection in the Constitution entailing? The first rulings of the Regional Administrative Court with respect to the opposition to new plants (renewable ones, ed.) write that Article 9 (of the Charter, ed.) says that the environment is just as important as the landscape Also because the Sienese hills would not survive three degrees higher. The change is already taking place in terms of jurisprudence".
This was said by the scientific director of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (Asvis), Enrico Giovannini, at a conference on the Pniec (the national energy plan) organized in the Chamber by the Ecco think tank.
Giovannini complained that the Interministerial Committee for economic planning and sustainable development (Cipess) has not yet approved "a proposed resolution which says that every new project, every new investment must look at the issues of all-round sustainable development, economic, social and environmental I hope the government gets to all this."
Giovannini then recalled that "in the context of the revision of the Pnrr, the government has included the revision of the SAD, the environmentally harmful subsidies. We must cut them by 2 billion by 2025. It is a very ambitious program, which would respond to the needs of workers and businesses, an extraordinary opportunity to support innovation. The constitutional reform is becoming reality, but we need to be consistent."
