“Da Himme wart net” is the name of the literally “spirit-rich” comedy in three acts that the theater group of the Waldeslust Grünbach local and folk costume association is currently performing in the Trachtenheim am Kellerberg.

The authors Markus Scheble and Sebastian Kolb have written a story that drives the audience from one fit of laughter to the next.

Grünbach - Barely dead and yet already stressed again: That's what happens to Stelzl, the deceased police officer (Manfred Eberl) who has just arrived in heaven.

He sits there in the waiting room, just as he died, wearing his uniform and long underpants, and receives a delicate assignment.

Before he can indulge in unearthly joys, he is supposed to pick up the master carpenter Bömmerl (Josef Vieregg), who has also just died.

At first he believes it will be an easy task.

But back on earthly soil, like Bömmerl as a ghost, invisible to others, a difficult task awaits him: the carpenter is reluctant to come along, he wants to do a few things before going to Elysium.

Because he has a bad conscience towards his daughter Anna (Lena Petermeier) and wants to train the journeyman Emmeran (Simon Lechner) well.

But ex-policeman Stelzl insists, “I should get you up as an angel candidate, and within 24 hours.”

While daughter Anna runs around confused and housekeeper Finni (Anna Maria Rank) is already collecting Bömmerl's clothes for an African collection, the "parasite relatives" arrive in the form of Bömmerl's cousin Froschmeier (Stefan Bigliel) and his wife (Sabine Petermeier).

They blithely rummage through the deceased's drawers and cupboards and even look through their mail.

They discover the news that Bömmerl has won three million euros in the lottery.

But where can the lottery ticket required for redemption be?

Bömmerl and Stelzl notice this evil goings-on without being able to intervene.

They have to watch helplessly as Anna wants to bequeath his good jacket to her cousin.

But the lottery ticket is in their pocket.

Finally, housekeeper Finni gets her secret love Emmeran to put on aluminum hats with strangely shaped antennas in the belief that she can receive certain vibrations from the afterlife through strong meditation - a hoot for the audience.

Finally, there's Raspberry Resi (Kathl Loidl), who likes to drink and is currently celebrating her liver sausage day: "Today I don't care about my liver!" She also thinks she can hear extraterrestrial voices, but she's not entirely sure I'm sure it couldn't be due to a lot of alcohol.

Ultimately, it provides the impetus to clarify the tricky situation and brings light to the ghostly goings-on at the eerie witching hour.

Now the dead Bömmerl finally sees that everything on earth has been arranged to his satisfaction and follows the impatient Stelzl to the sounds of Hallelujah into the kingdom of heaven.

This is the end of a piece that was once again cleverly staged by Bärbl Loidl and hardly allows the audience any pauses for laughter.

It should only be mentioned in passing that Josef Vieregg as Bömmerl cuts at least as good a figure in his pajama costume as he does in his uniform as commander of the Kirchasch volunteer fire department.

The funny piece can be seen three more times: on Friday and Saturday, 1st/2nd.

March, at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.) and on Sunday, March 3, at 6 p.m. (doors open at 4:45 p.m.).
