New York – It is not the first time that restrictions on his public statements have been imposed on the former US president.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is trying to restrict former President Donald Trump's comments in the case over alleged hush money payments to former porn actress Stormy Daniels.
Donald Trump should be prevented from verbally attacking people
On Monday (February 26), Bragg's office filed a motion calling for a news blackout against Trump.
It said the former president “has a long-standing and perhaps unique history of using social media, speeches, rallies and other public statements to attack people he sees as opponents.”
The justification goes on to say that the procedure is intended to protect those involved in the process.
The court should therefore force Trump from the outset to refrain from making “derogatory statements.”

34-count indictment against Donald Trump
The 77-year-old is charged with 34 counts in the trial, which is scheduled to start on March 25th: The public prosecutor's office is accusing him of falsifying business documents.
He wanted to hide harmful information and illegal activities before and after the 2016 presidential election in order to improve his chances in the vote.
The background to the case is primarily that Trump had $130,000 in hush money paid to the porn actress Stormy Daniels shortly before his election as president.
She had claimed that she had had sex with him.
Trump denies an affair, but does not deny that money was flowed.
Non-disclosure agreements between two parties are not illegal.
However, Trump is accused of illegally recording the payments, trying to conceal them illegally and thereby trying to cover up other violations of the law.
The ex-president has pleaded not guilty.

Trump had already sharply attacked those involved in the trial in previous court appearances, for example in a fraud trial against him that recently ended with a record sentence.
The judge there had already banned the ex-president from making certain statements about court employees and made them punishable.
The Republican is considered by his party to be the top candidate for the nomination for the 2024 US election. If he is nominated as a presidential candidate, there will likely be another duel with Democrat Joe Biden in November.
