For a long time, the large red banner “for sale” has hung on the wrought iron entrance door of the former Kerler fishing tackle shop in Landsberger Klösterl.

Now it's gone - the villa has found a new owner.

Landsberg - For decades, children stood wide-eyed in front of the aquarium at Angelgeräte Kerler.

However, in August 2022, the business closed its doors - and the villa at the entrance to the Pössinger Au Zoo was for sale.

But despite the advertised dream location and prestige of the building, no buyer seemed to be found - which was also due to the not inconsiderable purchase price initially demanded of over three million euros.

Over the years, this price fell until it stagnated at a good one and a half million euros in 2023.

It is not known what price the new owner bought the house for.

However, it is known who the new owner is: the city of Landsberg.

The “special location” of the villa

However, an editor's request to the city administration does not provide any details: "The city of Landsberg bought the building due to its special location at the entrance to the Lechpark," informs Simone Sedlmair from the press office.

“As soon as the internal coordination process has been completed, we will be happy to provide more information.” But there are whispers about the future use of the building: according to hearsay, the city's forestry office will move in there.

And something else very special could find its home there: a kind of 'forest or forestry school' for children.

When exactly the forestry office will move into its new home - the building will probably have to be renovated or at least renovated beforehand - and what the forest school will look like: a detailed report will follow.
