A product made from the hemp plant has already conquered the market legally and even healthily: CBD or cannabidiol.

The German Bundestag recently decided to partially legalize cannabis.
If the Federal Council also gives the green light on March 22nd, legalization and the associated changes will become active on April 1st, 2024.
Adults then have the opportunity to legally possess or grow cannabis with certain requirements.
Nevertheless, there is criticism from many quarters.
Bavarian politicians in particular harshly criticized legalization, arguing that the effects of cannabis were being trivialized and that millions of people were being put at risk.
In addition to the proven dangerous effects of the THC-containing substance, an active ingredient in the hemp plant also has positive active ingredients that are beneficial to health and can be sold legally.
Three letters have been making the rounds in the health and fitness scene for some time: CBD.
The abbreviation stands for cannabidiol, which is obtained from the hemp plant.
But why is CBD traded legally and even used for health purposes?
In contrast to the intoxicating THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which can be addictive, CBD has no psychoactive effects.
This means: CBD neither makes you high nor addictive.

Hemp is one of the oldest known useful and medicinal plants, being used as early as the early 3rd millennium BC.

CBD is one of around 113 known cannabinoids that are obtained from the female cannabis plant.

Are CBD products legal?
Yes.
However, very strict requirements apply from the European Union (EU).
The THC content in products with CBD must not exceed 0.3 percent.
In addition, CBD products must be made from certified EU hemp varieties and may only be sold in processed form such as oil, drops or cosmetics.
Unprocessed products such as CBD flowers, tea and cigarettes are not allowed to be purchased in Germany.
Can you become addicted to CBD products?
CBD products cannot be addictive because CBD is not addictive.
THC, on the other hand, can cause addiction in some people.
The THC content in CBD products is usually very low and below the current legal limit.
However, it is important to ensure that the CBD products you use are from a trustworthy supplier and comply with legal regulations.
Additionally, you should note that some CBD products may contain additional ingredients that can be addictive, such as nicotine in some CBD e-liquids.

The exact mechanisms of action of CBD are still not fully understood.
What we do know so far: Cannabidiol is generally considered to be extremely well tolerated, is not addictive and has little to no side effects.
Nevertheless, you should start with a lower concentration and then slowly work your way up to the optimal individual dosage.
This depends on various factors such as age, body weight and the type of complaint.
