Highlights: Melun wishes to save and open to the public the Saint-Sauveur priory, the cradle of the city built 2,000 years ago. “We are modernizing a lot in Melun, there is the arrival of Tzen 2, the renovation of the Station Centre, we also want to safeguard and highlight the city's heritage, it is important,” says Kadir Mebarek (Horizons), the mayor of the town. If we do nothing, this heritage will collapse and be lost, says Diane Laneluc, head of the archeology department.

After years of reflection, budget estimation and some work, the elected officials of the municipality have decided: they wish to open

“A restaurant, an art school or even an exhibition space… There has been talk of rehabilitating this place for several years.

But all these ideas were never more than projects,” declares Diane Laneluc, head of the archeology department of Melun (Seine-et-Marne).

But today, the time for superfluous things is over.

“We are modernizing a lot in Melun, there is the arrival of Tzen 2, the renovation of the Station Centre, we also want to safeguard and highlight the city's heritage, it is important,” says Kadir Mebarek (Horizons), the mayor of the town.

The historian confirms: “We have to do something, a project that makes sense, organize activities, bring life.

If we do nothing, this heritage will collapse and be lost.”
