One problem has not yet changed: the old Haindlfinger schoolhouse is less well received than desired.
Haindlfing
- A member's statement at the most recent annual general meeting of the Haindlfing cultural association summed it up: "I expect a village community that also uses the hall - and not just for cultural events."
The speaker's fear: "At some point they'll put up walls here - and then that's it!"
Little response
The problem that lies in the cultural association's stomach: 25 years ago, numerous helpers converted the old schoolhouse in Haindlfing into a beautiful community hall in around 1,700 hours of work.
The goal of the committed citizens: They wanted to create a place for culture, art and sociability, simply because there was nothing else in Haindlfing.
But the hall is not really well received, which somehow no one can really understand.
An attempt to explain came from a club member: “The young people prefer to go to the innkeeper.
If they celebrate there, they won't have any more work with the hall afterwards."
What's more: Because the building belongs to the city, the lower rooms were rented out as an apartment - and not, as the association wanted, as office space.
The reason: If there are events in the hall, you can of course hear them from one floor down.
The stroke of luck
But there was a stroke of luck because the tenants immediately got involved, became members of the club and also brought new ideas with them, such as a toddler group in the old school building.
What the club members still really want this year: dancing fun in the hall.
One member said: “In our other activities we just sit.
We should get moving!”
But what happened last year?
In addition to various café meetings, which are always very well received, there was the 25th anniversary of the school building celebration, a highly successful pumpkin carving for Halloween, Advent crafts, the Christmas party and a trip to the Munich Advent.
What met with little response: a crime reading to which only six guests came.

The planning
The outlook for this year: The May celebrations should definitely take place again, as well as several café meetings for the members.
What's also coming up: This year the club will be 35 years old, which should of course be celebrated.
“We’re still thinking about something.
Maybe we’ll go on a trip,” explained club chairman Ulrich Smoktun.
New cashier
Another item on the agenda was the election of the school treasurer, as Sabine Scheuerl, after decades of loyalty to the office, no longer wanted to run in the most recent election almost a year ago, but had agreed to an extension of the deadline.
And here too Smoktun had good news: Daniel Räde, the tenant, was appointed as the new school cashier, who is responsible for accounting for the bookings, in his absence.
The election was unanimous
The club is in a good financial position - admittedly without much wealth, but that is not Smoktun's ambition.
“Our goal is to break even, it doesn’t have to be anything more,” said the chairman.
