The Chamber of Crafts wants to build a huge new vocational training center on Narbonner Ring in Weilheim.
There have now been initial statements from the specialist authorities on the planning – including clear warnings.
Weilheim – The Chamber of Crafts’ large new building project on Wiesen am Narbonner Ring has completed the first round of official and public participation.
There was no fundamental rejection, as has now become clear when weighing up the opinions on the necessary land use plan change in the city's building committee.
But several public bodies called for space-saving construction methods.
The planned size is also viewed critically in some cases.
As reported, the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria wants to build its new “Weilheim Vocational Training Center” on an area of around 3.6 hectares opposite the new vocational school on the outskirts of Weilheim.
The area for this, previously used for agriculture, is even larger than that of the vocational school.
Government calls for alternative to ground-level parking spaces
The government of Upper Bavaria sees no spatial planning obstacles to the project, it was said at the most recent building committee meeting, and it recognizes that the planning is in the interest of good education.
However, the government is urging that land be used sparingly: an “alternative to the ground-level arrangement” is needed for the necessary car parking spaces.

The latter is “the main point of criticism” of the new building project, summarized Alfred Honisch (Greens) after dealing with all the statements - and wanted to know whether a planning response had already been made to it.
The Chamber of Crafts and Crafts had been asked about this several times, replied Manfred Stork from the city building authority, and “it was also indicated in the urban development contract that an innovative solution with regard to parking spaces is required”.
The client will probably announce an ideas competition, said Stork: “It is also in the Chamber of Crafts’ own interest to present itself accordingly.”
State building authority sees new construction as making Weilheim's eastern bypass "more difficult"
The government's statement supports the city "in its efforts to demand a parking deck or an underground car park," said Horst Martin (SPD).
However, this will only be specifically addressed in the next step of the process, emphasized Stork.
And Klaus Gast (CSU) emphasized: “We have clearly formulated the intention and have it in our hands in the development plan process.” In this case, possible collisions with the frequently used path to Lake Dietlhofer should also be taken into account, it said Meeting.
In the current land use plan process, there were also comments on the general size of the planned education center.
The “Professional Nature Conservation” department at the district office takes a critical view of this.
The “Urban Development” department called for greening to be included in the land use plan.
And the state building authority pointed out that the new building would make it “more difficult” to realize a possible eastern bypass around Weilheim.
If the worst comes to the worst, their route could of course be moved slightly, according to the city planning department.
The building committee approved the administration's considerations of the statements - against the votes of the Green representatives Luise Nowak and Alfred Honisch.
The city council will decide on this on Thursday, February 29th (public meeting from 6:30 p.m. in the large meeting room of the town hall).
