A second large European loan, this time to finance purchases of ammunition and weapons for Ukraine.
Emmanuel Macron is in favor and made it known Monday evening, during his press conference.
“There are several avenues which are on the table and which France supports, for example that of the Prime Minister of Estonia, who proposes to have joint debt issues to finance our military initiatives to support Ukraine and give visibility to our industrialists
,” he said, calling for
“deploying more bilateral funding”
and
“more European funding”
for Kiev.
The president had already supported the proposal from Kaja Kallas, the head of the Estonian government, during the Davos Economic Forum.
But this is the first time that he has channeled this possible European loan towards direct military support for Ukraine.
