Royals from all over the world come to Windsor Castle for Constantine of Greece's memorial service.
King Charles's participation was not certain in advance.
Windsor – Constantine of Greece (82, † 2023) was buried in February 2023.
King Charles (75) and Prince William (41) could not be there in Athens.
At his godfather's funeral service on February 18, 2023, heir to the throne and King sent Princess Anne (73) and Lady Gabriella Windsor (42) to pay their last respects to the Greek exiled monarch in the Cathedral of the Annunciation.

Another memorial service was scheduled to take place in January 2024.

Since Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece moved his residence to New York, he has visited the British capital regularly because two of his children live there, but the opportunities to see Greek relatives are few and far between.
King Charles and King Constantine enjoyed a close friendship.
He was generally closely linked to the European royal families: Prince Philip (99, †2021), who died in 2021, was his father's cousin.
It is difficult to understand, but sounds dramatic, that Prince William cannot join the royals who have traveled from far away.
Finally, William also found the time to award medals on behalf of his father after his cancer diagnosis.
