Tragedy on State Road 34: A 90-year-old couple dies in a head-on collision.
The person who caused the accident is seriously injured in hospital.
Aurich – A tragic traffic accident occurred near the East Frisian town of Aurich in which an elderly couple lost their lives.
A 90-year-old woman died at the scene, while her husband of the same age later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
This was announced by a police spokesman on Monday evening.
The 29-year-old driver of the oncoming car, who was also involved in the accident, is seriously injured in hospital.
The accident happened on State Road 34 in the direction of Wittmund.
The 29-year-old's van crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the couple's car.
According to police, the exact circumstances that led to the accident were initially unclear.
Due to the accident, State Road 34 had to be closed for several hours.
