More than 50 participants at the “Market of Digital Opportunities” in the Erding City Library: Young people show seniors apps for fitness and leisure.
Erding – The city of Erding’s senior citizen representative, Silke Hörold-Ries, was pleased with an extremely successful event.
Under the motto “Discover the digital world”, a “market of digital possibilities” for seniors took place in the Erding city library.
This initiative was launched in cooperation with the Education Center for Health Professions and the media educator Katja Bröckl-Bergner.
As stated in a press release, the aim of this project was to introduce older people to the diverse opportunities of the digital world and to introduce practical applications for everyday life.
Under the direction of Philipp Reiß, 40 students from the Education Center for Health Professions, together with Bröckl-Bergner, presented useful and interesting apps for everyday use on smartphones and other devices.
Visitors had the opportunity to try out these apps themselves and ask questions to better understand the digital cosmos.
The market of digital possibilities took place in the Erding city library and offered a unique opportunity to get to know and try out new technologies.
The success of the event became apparent through the feedback at the library exit.
“Please offer more often” “Encouraging, helpful and inspiring, thank you.” “The library is a great place for this”: More than 50 seniors took part in the event and were enthusiastic.
A special thank you from the organizers goes to the 40 students who “presented the apps with dedication and calm” and supported the seniors with tips and advice.
A highlight was the 3D printer: visitors were able to experience how a shark clothespin or an alpaca cookie cutter was gradually created.
Overall, the event can be viewed as a complete success, and the positive response from participants encourages the organizers to continue planning such events in the future.
