Would now like to remain a local councilor: Lilian Edenhofer.

Once again our administration is being unnecessarily burdened with such things.

Incredible turnaround: 50 hours after she announced her resignation from the committee, local councilor Lilian Edenhofer rowed back.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen - The situation is absurd: On Saturday evening, Lilian Edenhofer announced her resignation to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen town hall in a short and concise email.

A bang.

Last night the role went backwards: In fact, another notification arrived at the administration.

Time: 9:43 p.m.

The content: Edenhofer, previously a non-party member of the Free and Liberals for Garmisch-Partenkirchen faction, had “decided not to resign from my local council mandate”.

The second sentence is even more astonishing.

She looks forward to “continuing good and fruitful cooperation.”

She, who two days earlier had complained to the Tagblatt about “constant bickering, fussing and arguing” and given this as an explanation for her withdrawal.

Everything back to zero, so to speak?

The legal department of the market town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen will now check this.

On Saturday evening, Edenhofer announced her resignation: Now she wants to keep her local council mandate

As if there hadn't already been enough antics on the market town's political stage over the past almost four years, the announcement of his resignation and the revocation of it within just around 50 hours represents a new high point. Edenhofer had just said a lot in his statement to the Tagblatt clearly stated their position and mentioned the meeting of the local council on February 22nd, which dealt with several proposals from the Free and Liberal faction.

There you could see “that people are just arguing back and forth instead of taking care of the place and the citizens and their problems.”

Her words are clearly formulated and leave no room for interpretation that the former Free Voter could not be serious.

And yet: two days later everything is different.

Edenhofer is looking forward to “continuing good and fruitful cooperation”: She does not explain the reason for her change of heart

Edenhofer did not comment on her surprising change of heart yesterday.

She said in writing that she was stressed and would explain herself again “in the next few days”.

Group colleague Martin Sielmann was also exceptionally taciturn.

The FDP man from the tandem hardly said anything more than a “no comment”.

On Sunday he announced that he would try everything to change his colleague's mind.

Apparently with success.

Edenhofer's actions cause great consternation in the town hall.

Martin Milian, the deputy executive officer who received the emails in question, only confirmed yesterday that the administration is legally reviewing the situation.

Also whether the local council may have to deal with the matter despite the revocation.

After Edenhofer's resignation announcement: Administration has already contacted successors

Because after Edenhofer's email, the machinery in the town hall started immediately.

According to Milian, electoral law ultimately stipulates that if a local councilor announces his resignation, the successor to the list must be informed immediately.

This has actually already happened: Chester Fabricius, who is number one on the list of free voters after the 2020 local elections, has already been contacted.

He does not want to comment on the current situation until the case has been finally clarified.

Edenhofer's resignation: Mayor Koch can only shake her head at the action

Contacting the successor was not the only act that the town hall has already initiated: documents for the upcoming municipal council were also prepared so that Edenhofer's resignation could be dealt with directly in the March meeting.

Now everything may be wasted.

“Once again our administration is being unnecessarily burdened with such things,” complains Mayor Elisabeth Koch (CSU).

Personally, she can only shake her head at Edenhofer's campaign.

“The action no longer needs any further description.” It is simply a continuation of “her behavior that has been going on for years” together with her parliamentary group colleague Sielmann.
