The Gaza Municipality today (Tuesday) blamed Israel, which prevented its workers from caring for the animals in the city's zoo, which caused them to starve to death.

The post put up by the municipality states that Israel "destroyed the zoo in the Zeytun neighborhood in Gaza, and caused the animals to die of starvation after preventing the municipality's teams from reaching the zoo."
She also claimed that Israel prevented the transfer of the special food provided to the animals.
She accused that two of the municipality's employees were injured in an Israeli attack at the beginning of the war.

The post stated that the zoo covers an area of four dunams and includes a hundred animals, including a lion, a monkey, wolves and various birds.
Following the alleged damage to the place, the municipality called on environmental organizations to intervene and prevent the continuation of the fighting, and to restore protection to the garden's animals.
