Heart-shaped travel destinations can be found all over the world.

Around the globe, nature has left the symbol of love on beaches, rocks and islands.

1 / 10The Chapada Diamantina mountain range is located in the Brazilian state of Bahia.

The 38,000 square kilometer area is a national park that is best known for its diverse landscapes: swamps, rainforests, waterfalls, barren plateaus and gigantic rocks - including those in the shape of a heart.

Visitors can explore the park on guided tours, such as a boat or a hike.

2 / 10The heart-shaped cliff in the south of Portugal is also called “the heart of the Algarve”.

The somewhat remote section of beach where the natural wonder is located is called Praia da Marinha and is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve.

The best way for visitors to explore the rocks, which are up to 30 meters high, is on a walk: from the parking lot you can follow a hiking trail that leads, among other things, directly to the heart.

The beach section is also ideal for (subsequent) swimming.

3 / 10Portizuelo Beach is surrounded by mountains and is best known for its marbled quartzite rocks.

The sea has ground one of them into the shape of a heart.

The beach is located in Asturias, in the north of Spain, and is considered significantly quieter and less crowded than other tourist hotspots in the popular holiday country.

4 / 1040 kilometers from the Polish city of Wroclaw lies the tranquil town of Dolny Brzeg.

In addition to the medieval town center, the place is particularly known for its heart-shaped lake.

The quiet atmosphere is ideal for a romantic picnic.

5 / 10This heart-shaped cenote lies in the middle of the jungle of Tulum.

Cenotes are underground caves filled with water and are one of the main attractions of the Mexican region of Yucatan, where Tulum is also located.

In addition to the cenotes, the city, which is popular with tourists, offers beautiful sandy beaches and ancient ruins from the Mayan period.

6 / 10The famous Heart Reef is part of Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

The heart-shaped coral atoll is located in the Hardy Reef of the Whitsundays and is best seen from the air.

But boat trips are also possible.

However, snorkeling and diving are not permitted due to its protected status.

7 / 10Four kilometers off the coast, between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, lies the Brazilian island of Ilhabela, “Beautiful Island” in German.

Visitors can expect an original natural paradise of mountains, jungle and beaches.

The Baia de Castelhanos offers a special sight.

The heart-shaped bay is enclosed by crystal clear waters on one side and lush greenery on the other.

8 / 10Water and wind have created a heart-shaped hole in this Bali landscape.

The nature of the Indonesian island has been attracting numerous visitors for years.

Waterfalls, volcanoes, rice fields and beaches make Bali a popular long-distance travel destination.

In recent years, the island has also made a name for itself as a hotspot for digital nomads and yoga vacations.

9 / 10Paul's Bay near Lindos on the Greek island of Rhodes is a natural bay south of the Acropolis of Lindos.

From there you have the perfect view of the heart-shaped area.

Thanks to the surrounding cliffs that block strong winds and the shallow water, the Pauslus Bay beach is also great for swimming.

10 / 10 Erosion in the red sandstone has formed some wondrous rock formations in Antelope Canyon in Arizona (USA), which attract thousands of tourists every year.

One of the most photographed subjects is the heart-shaped hole in Upper Antelope Canyon, the above-ground part of the canyon.

In order to visit the natural attraction, you will definitely need a ticket for a tour.

You cannot explore the red-orange rocks on your own.

Paris holds the title of city of love.

But in almost every other metropolis, visitors also hang small, heart-shaped castles on bridges or other sights to express their love for one another.

At popular holiday destinations you can often find oversized decorative hearts as a photo motif or colorful street art that takes up the symbol of love.

But nature also creates heart shapes.

Whether in Asia, America or neighboring European countries - all over the world there are impressive destinations that have naturally taken on the outlines of a heart.

This usually happens through erosion: wind and water wear away rock and other soil surfaces over the years, which can change the outline of islands and rock formations, for example.

The majority of romantic travel destinations are in warmer climates.

Anyone planning a trip to one of these places can also look forward to sun and beach.

If you prefer a short trip on your own doorstep, you will also find fairytale travel destinations in Germany.
