Young voters surprise in a study with massive support for Trump.

It could cost Biden the election victory.

Is a turnaround still possible?

Washington, DC – Surprising finding from the USA: Donald Trump is particularly popular among an age group.

It is Generation Z, of all people, who approve 64 percent of what Trump achieved in his first term in office.

That's the result of a Harvard CAPS-Harris poll in which 2,022 eligible voters took part.

Some of the generation that is currently between 18 and 24 years old were not yet eligible to vote when the ex-president was in office.

Overall, 57 percent of respondents in the survey said they approved of Trump's first presidency, while 41 percent disapproved of its results.

60 percent of those aged 55 to 64 were satisfied with Trump's first term in office.

58 percent of people aged 25 to 34 and 35 to 44 approved of what Trump achieved as president.

Another survey by the “Axios Generation Lab” showed a close race in the 18 to 34 age group: 48 percent wanted to vote for Trump and 52 percent wanted to vote for the current US President Joe Biden.

Warning for Biden before the US election: Young people were a deciding factor in the election victory over Trump

“But the idea that young people will continue to flock to the Democratic Party?

There are some question marks about that,” said political scientist Neil O'Brian, according to

.

In the 2020 presidential election, young voters were also a deciding factor in Biden's election victory.

The results of the two surveys raise doubts as to whether such a lead among young voters is also possible in the 2024 US election.

There were already reports in November that the current president's Israel policy in particular was displeasing to young voters.

The Harvard CAPS-Harris poll showed Trump with 48 percent across all age groups, six points ahead of Biden's 42 percent.

With possible independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. – who received 15 percent in the poll – as another factor, Trump would be seven percentage points ahead of Biden (35 percent) at 42 percent.

The inclusion of the possible independent candidate Cornel West and the candidate Jill Stein from the US Green Party only increased Trump's lead in the survey (42 percent to 33 percent for Biden).

Majority wants third candidate for US election: dissatisfaction with Trump and Biden

Trump achieved these clear poll results even though 56 percent of respondents believed Trump had committed a crime and 54 percent believed Trump had incited an insurrection against the government while in office.

54 percent of those surveyed believed Trump's statement that the trials against him were politically motivated.

In addition to the 91 charges that could potentially change voter behavior, the US Supreme Court could also disqualify former President Trump from the election.

Meanwhile, a majority of people surveyed said they were worried about Joe Biden's health.

Respondents close to Republicans in particular showed skepticism.

Conversely, 54 percent of those surveyed also said that Trump's trials would make it impossible for him to run for president.

This opinion was mainly expressed by respondents leaning towards the Democrats (79 percent).

62 percent of survey participants said the USA needed an alternative to Trump and Biden.

It is not the first poll in which many people want neither Trump nor Biden.

56 percent of those surveyed said that in addition to the two potential main candidates, they also considered an independent, moderate candidate as an alternative.
