The nationwide warning strike in local transport is now also affecting Bremen.

Verdi is calling for a strike there on Friday.

Bremer Straßenbahn AG is canceling all buses and trains that day.

Bremen – Bus and tram customers also have to prepare for failures in Bremen on Friday.

The Verdi union announced on Tuesday that there would also be a strike at Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) on March 1st.

The BSAG then announced that it would stop bus and tram traffic that day.

“During this time, the company will shut down operations,” said a dpa spokesman.

“From Friday, March 1st, around 3 a.m., until the start of operations on Saturday, March 2nd, there will be no buses or trams on the BSAG lines.

The night lines are also affected by this.”

Verdi had previously announced that there was once again no result in the collective bargaining talks on Tuesday.

That's why the employees of BSAG, which operates buses and trams in Bremen, are now being called on to go on an all-day warning strike.

The strike begins at the start of operations and ends at the end of operations.

A demonstration together with “Fridays for Future” is planned for Friday morning.

“The negotiations so far in Bremen have been constructive in principle,” said Verdi union secretary Marian Drews.

However, there is still no convergence in some points.

“That's why we're now calling for another warning strike to increase the pressure for a good offer.” The union is demanding, among other things, more vacation, longer rest periods and an adjustment to the time allowances.

According to Verdi, the next negotiations in Bremen are planned for March 13, 2024.

Since last Monday there have been work stoppages in local transport nationwide as part of a week of action, and on different days regionally.

The main strike day is Friday, on which there is now also a strike in Bremen.

In Lower Saxony there will be work stoppages in Göttingen from Wednesday, and from Thursday also in Hanover, Braunschweig and other cities.
