From a financial perspective, 2023 went quite well for the municipality of Irschenberg.
As the new treasurer Josef Teucher reported to the local council on Monday, the municipality had 3.7 million euros in reserves as of December 31st.
Irschenberg - The administrative budget ended at 10.6 million euros and the asset budget at 4.4 million euros.
The budget volume was 15 million euros.
No borrowing
The transfer from the administrative budget to the asset budget was 1.8 million euros.
The annual surplus in the asset budget amounted to 932,660 euros.
Contrary to what was planned, borrowing was not necessary in 2023 - also because some planned road construction projects such as Anzingerstrasse (cost: 1.2 million euros) were not implemented, explained Mayor Klaus Meixner (CSU).
These should now be made up for.
In 2023, a total of 1.05 million euros were withdrawn from the reserves and 1.7 million were added.
The surplus from the capital budget will be used again in 2024.
Mayor satisfied
“We have quite a lot on the board,” said Meixner with satisfaction.
“We have a cushion, and we need that too.” Because the construction costs are enormous for the community.
“It costs more for us than for private developers.” With municipalities, everything is more complicated and the effort has to be put into it.
“That’s why it’s good that we have the money.”
