At the start of the hearing, his traditional sunglasses still screwed on his nose, the far-right videographer exchanged his usual exuberance for a seemingly flawless placidity.
The YouTuber is used to controversies, but not to the courts: he has only been convicted once, for driving without a license.
But this Wednesday, February 28, he faced up to seven years in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros.
At issue are two videos dating back to November 2022 and May 2023. Papacito defends a woolly pig breeder, Pierre-Guillaume Mercadal.
The latter criticizes the mayor of the small town of Montjoi (Tarn-et-Garonne), Christian Eurgal, for having ceded a municipal road to a rich Englishman, making it difficult for him to access his farm.
