Julia Navalnaya: She wants to continue the fight of her late husband Alexei Navalny
Yulia Navalnaya, who had increasingly withdrawn into her private life since the birth of her son, stated in previous media reports that she had never aspired to a political career.
Nevertheless, she and her husband were members of the social-liberal Yabloko party in Russia for a few years in the early 2000s, and politics and resistance to the autocratic Russian regime under Vladimir Putin always seemed to connect the two.

In the past, Navalnaya was increasingly perceived as an accompanying and supporting figure for her husband, but that should change after the poison attack on Alexei Navalny in 2020 at the latest.
After that, he publicly addressed the Russian President directly for the first time.
Since then, media reports have dubbed her the “First Lady” of the Russian opposition several times.
