An English magazine chose the 50 best soccer teams in history and four Argentines appear

Highlights: Four Argentines appear in the list of the 50 best teams of all time. Independiente between 1971 and 1974 is ranked 17th and was the best on this side of the world. The list is headed by Ajax of Holland (1965-1973) and in second place is the Brazilian team of 1970. Barcelona (2008-2011) is in fifth place and Juventus (1980-1986 and 1994-1998) repeat positions in the top 50 list prepared by the English media and reproduced by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport.


The Four Four Two ranking is made up of clubs and national teams, and is led by Cruyff's Ajax and Brazil '70. For the British, Independiente between 1971 and 1974 is ranked 17th and was the best on this side of the world. Different golden cycles of Estudiantes, Boca and River complete the group.

Among the national teams, Brazil (1970) was chosen in second place;

that of Spain (2007-2012) in seventh place;

Hungary (1950-1956) in tenth place;

Germany (1970-1976) in sixteenth place and Holland (1974-1978) in nineteenth place.

There are no signs of the Argentine National Team among the top 50, although Lionel Messi does appear because Guardiola's Barcelona (2008-2011) is in fifth place.
