Puchheim - On Wednesday morning, February 28th, a track had to be closed at the Puchheim S-Bahn stop after an 81-year-old driver “put her car on the track” in a parking lot.
At around 8:25 a.m., the federal police received information that a passenger car was stuck on the track at the Puchheim S-Bahn stop in the Fürstenfeldbruck district.
An 81-year-old German woman was found on site and identified herself as the driver of a small VW car.
According to initial investigations, she probably confused the gas and brake pedals when parking the automatic vehicle and therefore drove from the adjacent parking lot into the track area.
There was no train in the danger area at this time.
Rail traffic was hindered
The fire department recovered the vehicle.
The track was not damaged.
The disruption to rail traffic was limited due to track closures lasting around half an hour.
The driver of the vehicle from the Fürstenfeldbruck district remained uninjured.
As a result of the incident, the federal police are investigating on suspicion of dangerous interference with rail traffic.
