Vito Bardi strengthens his candidacy in Basilicata after the victory of Alessandra Todde and the center-left in Sardinia.

If until a few days ago the centre-right, or at least part of it, after having imposed Truzzu at the helm of Sardinia, was toying with the idea of replacing Forza Italia's candidate for the elections of 21 and 22 April, now the move appears more risky so much so that the organizational manager of FdI, Giovanni Donzelli, announced the decision "very soon", adding that his party "works for the unity of the coalition" and that there are "no preclusions on anyone, much less on Bardi".

Maurizio Gasparri is clear: "we are for Bardi, with a broader convergence, but in a very serene way".

Before him, the foreign minister and leader of Forza Italia, Antonio Tajani, said he was "absolutely convinced" that the candidate will be the outgoing governor: "Let's move forward to win in Abruzzo and Basilicata".

Still on the subject of paradoxes, Todde's success in Sardinia has put Angelo Chiorazzo, the Lucanian entrepreneur who has been active for months on behalf of "Basilicata casa comune" (his political coordinator, Lindo Monaco, asked the center-left to "avoid last-minute splits") and has been waiting for months to become the candidate of the center-left.

A goal that from today appears not very close or easy to reach.

He himself, having sent his best wishes to Todde, asked that "Basilicata have the same courage as Sardinia. Let's try to take advantage of these indications in Basilicata too. There is no more time to waste, there is no need for improvisation. We can win, united you win", he underlined.

"It can also be done in Basilicata", echoed the regional secretary of the Democratic Party, Giovanni Lettieri.

Former Democratic Party senator Salvatore Margiotta asked the leaders of the centre-left coalition, "potentially successful in Basilicata", to be "stubbornly united".

Former minister Roberto Speranza (Pd) also hoped that "vetoes and prejudices will fall in the progressive camp" on Chiorazzo, defined as "a very strong candidate".

Meanwhile, the provincial presidents of Potenza and Matera of Italia viva have announced that, "with the persistence of divisions and personalism, Iv will not participate in coalitions that deal with organized defeats".

Not to mention the tough position of the M5s (not new, it must be added): the regional councilor Gianni Perrino said clearly that in Basilicata "the path taken up to now is not the right one. The arrogance, the impositions from above , the forward escapes and the puppeteers - known and less well-known - are aspects that have strongly divided the so-called 'progressive camp' of Lucania".

When they say: high obstacles to overcome.
