Unusual trip for a Schlager legend from Bavaria: She visited her daughter in the Bundeswehr and documented this with a family photo.

Plattling / Weißenfels – Even almost 40 years after her biggest hit “If I dance with you” (1986), Nicki (57) is still active as a pop singer.

The Lower Bavarian from Plattling regularly reports on her performances via social media.

There you can also find out that she otherwise leads a refreshingly middle-class life: she visits the Christmas market semi-privately, the local carnival with friends or cooks beef roulades - she once even told us the recipe.

She and her husband Gerhard have two daughters, Sina and Kimberly – called Kimy.

As is often the case with parents, Nicki and her Gerhard had to let go because one of them wanted to go outside.

By no means far away to another continent, but in a completely different environment: The 21-year-old - Nicki had publicly congratulated her on her birthday in October - had decided to join the Bundeswehr for seven months.

Nicki documented the family visit to the barracks, around four hours' drive from Plattling, on Instagram.

“Suddenly you enter a completely different world,” the 57-year-old marvels, “and you are standing in the Saxony-Anhalt barracks in Weißenfels because your daughter has decided to voluntarily join the Bundeswehr for seven months,” she writes further.

“Just for the experience, three months of basic training and now we move on to the medical training regiment.” The family photo above shows from the left: dad Gerhard, daughter Sina, daughter Kimy in dress uniform with a blue beret and Doris Hrda alias Nicki.

Schlager star Nicki is proud of her daughter

The mom is really proud of her daughter, who is voluntarily gaining new experiences.

“These three months were tough, but you mastered everything.

We admire your will, your strength and your perseverance,” writes Nicki with various heart emojis.

“Congratulations, respect and recognition dear Kimy on your vow.

We love you and we are sure you will find your way.

Sina, mom & dad.”

Some people agree in the comments.

One remembers: “As an old rescue civilian, I wish you good and deep experiences!

It had a very positive impact on me and you get a completely different perspective.

The route is the goal.

You can usually find both.” Others write: “Dear Kimy, I take my hat off.

You can be really proud of yourself,” “Respect in these not so great times, a good example of how you can do something with your life,” or “Thank you for your hard work.”

One or two people with a past or present presence in the Bundeswehr also spoke up in appreciation.

Nicki should be happy to read it, even if she and her family are separated from Kimy for another few months.

The pop singer once also showed photos of her wedding with her Gerhard.
