The Bayrischzell local council has decided to relocate the mobile home parking space.

This should move from the current location to the parking lot of the suspension lift.

Bayrischzell – The development plan for the planned Explorer Hotel on Seeberg is slowly taking shape.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025.

But the mobile home parking space on Seeberg has to move beforehand.

Regardless of the hotel, the community of Bayrischzell has to replace the Seeberg Bridge, which is around a hundred years old.

Construction is not scheduled to begin until mid-June so as not to collide with the federal highway renovation.

Now there needs to be a new parking space for the mobile homes starting this summer.

The administration's suggestion is to set up a mobile home parking space in the community's own parking lot at the suspension lift as a replacement solution.

“The parking lot is unused for ten months of the year,” explained Mayor Georg Kittenrainer.

“If the single chairlift is in full operation, the RV park could be closed.”

Better ski bus than suspension lift

But even when skiing is on, the parking lot for the single chairlift is not always full.

“The suspension lift is a discontinued model,” said deputy mayor and mountain railway boss Gidi Stadler (CSU) and reported days with only 20 ascents.

“People take the ski bus up,” he explained.

In addition, there are more and more skiers asking for a parking space.

According to the mayor, the terrace structure is attractive and the space is larger than at Seeberg.

The necessary infrastructure (water, sewage, electricity) is available, although the sewer connection is inconveniently located above the parking lot and may therefore need to be pumped.

New parking space: Request for shower and toilet

Tourism director Stephanie Hintermayr wanted the new RV park to be “spruced up and beautified” when it was relocated.

She could also imagine a toilet with a shower.

“This is really a mobile home parking space, not a campsite,” Stadler was not the only one to remind.

But for Georg Kittenrainer, the meeting was primarily about a fundamental decision, not about detailed planning.

“We still have to think carefully about this,” said the mayor.

A relocation of the mobile home parking space to the customer parking lot of the suspension lift was welcomed and unanimously decided by the local council.
